Sometimes we get a piece as is the case with friends outside your immediate circle, or sometimes you get the whole thing lumped on your lap. Jung said that we all have both male & female aspects of our psyche, the female is the nurturer, the male the protector (to glibly put it). Sometimes we find the embodiment of these ideals in people, sometimes we make them our respective girlfriends/boyfriends, husbands, or wives, or sometimes they are realized as a "soul mate" that transcends title (Mrs/miss, husband, mistress, f-buddy, friend, enemy?, etc) & time. When we find each other it's a free-rushing moment of pure love that pushes through all the blocks & barriers straight from one soul to another. Vulnerable there, we either embrace the energy, or get frightened and retreat at the reality of the situation. However, once she(the animus or embodiment) gives it, as she gives it, you both realize you are one. I am you, you are we, we are one...connected infinitely through the soul, through the heart.
